For an MDOC case, VINE's event should be compared with OTIS. A PAROLE status means the person left prison but remains under MDOC supervision. DISCHRG means MDOC jurisdiction ended. A PRISON status or listed facility does not establish release. OTIS excludes county-jail-only people, so it cannot validate every Livingston jail event.
OTIS can also display Date Paroled, location, sentence details, and the Parole Board Jurisdiction Date. Date Paroled is retrospective evidence of prison departure. The jurisdiction date is also called the Earliest Release Date and marks eligibility rather than completed release. VINE may report different event sets based on the connected agency or case. Registration does not promise every court action or custody change. Keep contact data current and never rely on a single automated alert as the only source for a safety decision.
When more than one method is available, each method still reports the same underlying agency event. Multiple alerts improve delivery, not the completeness of the source record. If a call arrives but the message is unclear, use the matching record and supplying agency rather than calling an unrelated office.
